Yoga Room Etiquette

Most Excellent Yoga Tips

Please keep the following in mind when practicing at Bikram Yoga - Kearny Mesa

  • ARRIVE EARLY 15 to 20 minutes before class - when you arrive early, this allows us to start the class promptly on time. Be respectful of your fellows yogis. Late comers will not be admitted into class.
  • SHOES - no shoes in the studio, leave them at the door.
  • SIGN IN - always sign in and print legibly.
  • B.Y. Kearny Mesa is a cell phone free zone. Please take all calls outside.
  • STAY FOR THE ENTIRE CLASS - all classes are 90 minutes long. If your schedule does not allow you to stay the full 90 minutes, please choose another time to attend class.
  • WATER ONLY - No colored drinks. This includes gatorade, fruit juices, soda, coffee, red wine etc...
  • BE AWARE OF WHERE & HOW YOU SET-UP - newbies and injured people should set up in the back of the room. Do not set up directly in front of another student.
  • NOTHING EXTRA IN THE YOGA ROOM - all personal items must be left in the change rooms, this includes cell phones, pagers, watches etc... Only you, your mat/towel and your water please. And NO GUM!
  • Please don't walk through class during a posture. If you must leave do so in between postures.
  • BE CLEAN AND FRAGRANCE FREE - you can take a shower before class if needed. Check your feet.
  • LET THE TEACHER KNOW - before class if you have any injuries or if you are not feeling well. Set up in the back of the room on those days.
  • SILENCE IS GOLDEN - no talking in the yoga room. Relax in silence before and after class.
  • QUICK SHOWERS, SAVE WATER - be considerate of our water shortage here in Southern California.
  • CLASS CARDS ARE NON REFUNDABLE, NON EXTENDABLE, NOT TRANSFERABLE.
  • AND FINALLY - Have Fun!
